In order to tweak the BIOS .. you must get into the BIOS.. from a cold boot .. or a restart

  • With most modern computers hit / mash / push the DEL key during the boot cycle

  • Older computers & laptops may require other / additional key hitting / mashing / pushing .. If DEL does not work, try F1 or F2

  • In the Advanced BIOS is where you set "boot order" (CD/DVD 1st for reinstalling Windows) or Hard disk priority which is required for dual boot (Linux / windows) systems with Windows on one HD & Linux on a different HD.

  • BIOS is where you tweak core voltages & FSB (Front Side Bus) speed.
